The names Lexi Mathews. Just when you think everything in your life is perfect, something happens that changes everything. Something so horrible that you dont think youll ever be happy again. Something like that happened to me and my life has drastically changed. I guess I was your normal teen growing up. I was born in Los Angeles, California to the happy parents of Hope and James Mathews. I had a pretty good life growing up and my parents never fought but my dad was hardly ever home. My dad was always working but we never really ever talked about what he did for a living. My mom used to tell me that my dad was a business man and traveled a lot and thats why he was hardly ever home. Of course, I believed her. What reason did I have not to? My mom never lied to meor so I thought. I guess I was in high school when I started to figure out that my dad really wasnt a business man. I had friends whos dads were business men and they always had lots of money. We never really had a lot of money, not that I cared. When I was 16, my dad was working, as usual. This time though, my mom had gone on a business trip with my dad. Or so I thought. I had stayed with some friends why my parents were out of town. One day, when me and my friend had gotten back from school, there were some guys at her house. They said my parents had been killed in a random shooting. They had also told me that my dad had worked for the FBI. At first I didnt believe anything they were telling me but then I started putting the pieces together and finally accepted that my dad was no sales man. Since I was only 16, I got put in a foster home. I didnt have any real relatives that would take me in so I was put in a home. I knew I was never going to be adopted, I mean who wants to adopt a 16 year old when they can have some cute baby? Anyway, I knew I was going to have to suffer for 2 years until I turned 18 and I could get my own apartment. Finally, I turned 18 and I was released from the foster home and I was out of the states hands. I got my own apartment and started college and now im just trying to live my life and get everything remotely back to normal.
